  • 15 years ago today, I had my “come-to-Jesus” moment. 15 years ago today, I decided I couldn’t live like this anymore. 15 years ago today, I chose something else. I wasn’t quite sure what I was walking into, but I damn sure knew what I was leaving. I was leaving shame, crushing guilt, anxiety over every step of my life, war within myself, self-hate, jealousy, denial of happiness, and the list goes on. My life was saved this day, April 2, 2005, 15 years ago. God intervened. He’s good at that. I finally woke up; I decided no more. No more living like you’re less than. No more living SOMEONE ELSE’S dream for you. No more pretending you’re okay with sin. No. More. This was the day the dark clouds finally parted and a teeny-tiny bit of light popped through. Those cracks in our life are good - that’s how the light gets in. I hope you have a day like this soon. I hope you let Jesus win you over.   • It was really apparent, when I launched Lux U back in early 2019, that we had a phenomenal product. Great courses on the faith, created and filmed FOR the Catholic woman (and 💯 Catholic) BUT it wasn’t quite right. It was close. But it was missing #Community and our platform wasn’t built to optimize that. We needed that beautiful gift of authentic sisterhood. You know, that irreplaceable, almost indescribable THING that women do when they come together. We Connect. We share. We care. When we put down our defensives, when we trust that the women around us actually *want* us to be fully alive in Christ, it is *so* much easier to be ourselves. It’s that deep breath or the release of tears when you KNOW you are loved, accepted, seen AND heard. That’s who we are. #LuxLadies. We see you. We hear you. We love you. Just where you are, but we love you enough not to leave you there. We walk together towards the Way, Truth and Life. #Jesus We found a way. We found our answer in the #LuxApp. You are WELCOME here, sister! Come check us out! YES, we pray. YES, we have our own chaplain. YES, we have courses on the faith. BUT WE ALSO HAVE EACH OTHER! (and I’m #notsorry I put that in all caps). ...and frankly, that’s my fave part. That we have each other. We share our sufferings, our joys and concerns.   • An open letter to Catholic Priests on this Passion Sunday: Today, while attending Mass online and watching my Priest say Mass in an empty church, it was glaringly obvious how much we need one another. Priests and the Laity. We are called to be one family. And like any family, there are hurts. We have been deeply wounded. Some of you have betrayed us, abandoned us, and abused us. YOU, Priests, who are to be “in persona Christi” , some have acted more like Judas than Jesus. Even now, when we have such separation from you, we still hurt ...and yet we still desire reconciliation. And, WE MUST own up to the reality that we, the laity, have hurt you too. We have turned our hearts to the world. We have dismissed you. We have ignored your invitations to experience the mercy and healing of Christ Jesus. We mock you with how little we reverence Jesus - whom you have given your life for. Yes, we have hurt you too, brother Priests. And we are sorry. Please forgive us for “we know not what we do”. But we (still) need one another. We are family. The “harvest is abundant but the laborers are few”. And if those “few laborers” fight and hurt one another, we can no longer reap the harvest. We will become the tree that produces bad fruit and are only fit for the fire. My prayer is that WE (laity and religious) try to not be the cause of the sufferings of Christ, but rather console Him in those who suffer around us. Christ looked upon Jerusalem with pity. WE have hurt the Lord with our unfaithfulness. Together, let us rebuild the Church. Not just fill the pews, but fill our hearts with Christ Jesus. It IS time to repent. Let us cast our burdens upon the Lord, prepare our Hearts for His coming, and worship in Truth and Spirit. TOGETHER. One day, the Church doors will open, and I pray you see a hungry crowd waiting to enter, ready to worship and receive the Eucharistic Christ. I pray, on that glorious day, we see you, Father, eager to embrace your flock, bold in preaching the Gospel and unwavering in Truth. Lead us. Bring Christ to us. And LET US HELP YOU remember what “the faithful” really looks, sounds and acts like. ...And ALL for the glory of God.
